As a little girl I was lucky enough to have the type of grandmother who held onto small, fleeting, ordinary moments. She was always following me and my sister around with a film camera and a tape recorder. Asking us to sing for her or to show her our best spins and made up performances.
Now, as I've grown and become a mother myself, I understand a little more about the depths of the that love. The love that drove her to document our most normal moments, to try to hold onto pieces in time that would soon fade. The desire to be able to look back at a specific moment in time and know how our hair blew in the wind, how our gap toothed smiles looked or the little things we were fascinated by and proud of.
My Grandma Billie had a way of making time slow down, of making normal moments feel really magical. Because of her, I have hundreds, if not thousands, of images from when I was a child. A time before photography was convenient...when the photos that were taken were taken on purpose, because each one was a frame that you didn't want to go to waste.
Intentionally documenting moments lives in me, through her-- it always has, and it always will. I think she'd be so proud to know that I get to share that gift with all of you.
ideal for: couples, maternity, and family photo sessions
There is so much beauty in our everyday lives — in the things that make you who you are, the things you’re interested in, the things you’re proud of. Those little things, and the thousand in-between moments, make up so much of what our days actually look like. My job is to make sure you have a way to hold onto a few of those moments. To notice what's already beautiful so that you can look back and remember certain phases of life… what your home looked like, how you spent your afternoons, the way your people existed together in this season.
This photography package is for those who want to remember what it felt like to live inside their days. These sessions aren’t about perfect posing or performing for the camera. They’re about being present, moving slowly, and letting your real life unfold. Sessions take place in meaningful, non-traditional locations and often include hobbies, routines, or simple activities you love doing together. The result is a gallery that feels honest, nostalgic, and deeply personal… proof that your everyday moments are worthy of being documented.
A golden-hour sunset session that blends my signature storytelling approach with a more traditional flow—perfect if you love heartfelt moments and timeless, frame-worthy images.
Extended family sessions are gently guided and thoughtfully paced, so no one feels rushed or overwhelmed. We focus on connection over perfection, capturing the natural dynamics that make your family yours.
ideal for: elopements, micro weddings, intimate weddings < 50 guests
Small, intimate weddings and elopements are for couples who want their day to feel real. Less pressure. Fewer expectations. More room to breathe. More room to feel. Days rooted in meaning — in intentional choices, deep relationships, and doing things your own way. Whether you’re exchanging vows on a mountaintop, at the courthouse, in your backyard, or in a place that feels like home, what matters most is that it feels true to you.
This experience is documentary and emotion-driven. You don’t need to perform or perfect anything. You get to be present. To move slowly. To let your day unfold as it naturally does. You’ll be gently guided when needed, but mostly given the space to simply exist together. The result is a gallery full of laughter, nerves, stillness, and all the messy, beautiful in-between — images that don’t just show what it looked like, but help you remember what it felt like.
"The positive things I could share about our session with Heather are endless. Truly a professional in every way but ever better, a kind, genuine human that is able to capture incredible photographs. With 2 young boys you never know what to expect with pictures and their mood but Heather connected with them beautifully, and encouraged their wildness to capture some true images so special to my heart.
She’s flexible - the wind was wild that day and we last minute flexed on location that turned out to be serene. And she produces an album that I will cherish forever. Now just to decide what to print!"
"Heather is definitely my wife and I’s favorite photographer ever! We’ve had two sessions with her and they’ve been the absolute best. Heather makes the whole process easy and it’s more like talking to a friend than just a photographer!
She makes sure we’re comfortable the whole time and that our vision for the photos come out beautifully. Our first session with her was with our dogs and she did such a great job and then next was our elopement photos! She’s easy to communicate with and definitely one of the best!"
"Heather took our family photos for the first time this fall and she made a forever client out of us. From our session experience with her to our gallery photos, we could not be more in love. Even my husband and kids y’all. Be ready to cry messy tears of joy!"
